Sir Tom Jones and a chicken
Apr 16, 2010 Updated Apr 20, 2010

Sir Tom Jones has finally had a 47-year exclusion ban lifted, but the chook-based controversy at the heart of the story still rages...

Sir Tom was blacklisted from the tiny South Wales town of Fochriw in 1963, after being accused of stealing a chicken, which was intended as a raffle prize at one of his gigs.

Fochriw resident Len Davies, now aged 80, remembers the incident:

"There was a fight and then the chicken had gone. Tom got the blame – but nobody really knows..."
