INXS recruit new voices for greatest hits record
The current line-up of ageing pop sensations INXS have a new record in the pipeline, with murmurs that it will take the form of a greatest hits album that will be released as a tribute to the band’s late frontman, Michael Hutchence.
The group, which has been around since 1977 and has undergone frequent line-up changes over the years, has brought in a selection of new voices to rework some of their biggest hits.
The group of modern, and decidedly younger, musicians includes Brandon Flowers from The Killers, who joined the band to re-record ‘Beautiful Girl’ and Matchbox 20’s Rob Thomas, who laid down new vocals for ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ and ‘Original Sin’.
Kav Temperley from Eskimo Joe and Gabriella Cilmi will also make appearances, and a recent cover by Snow Patrol of the tune ‘New Sensation’ may also make it onto the album.
