What a ridiculous, ugly joke of a list?!
Liam Gallagher?! #2 - are you joking?! The Beatles wannabe could not be less original! Hateful, arrogant, childish, etc ..what messages has he sent that are worth anything?!
Amy Winehouse?! The junky scrag?! She had gifted voice but what did she do, what kind of individual was she..regardless of drug use..?!
Before Jimmy Hendrix?! ..and Kurt Cobain so low?!
..and who the hell is Alex turner and Ian Curtis?!
Idiots attempt to (re)write history...
Disgusting.
You sure this list is not of the most depressed and depressing Rock folk?
As that is the way it reads!
Two suicides, two OD's and a whole bunch of Wannabe's.
Unfortunately, only one murder.
It is a very poor list and does not desrve the profile it has been given.
Kudos to Lennon -- who truely does warrent the accolade. I can think of a few others people that could've been on this list but are not, and just look how many British folk are on the list.
NME, biased? Oh no, not at all. *sigh*
If we are looking at icons from the last 60 YEARS, then I would think Elvis slightly more iconic than Liam Gallagher, lol. But yeah, it is NME, so that says a lot.
