Heavy hitters lobby UK PM

Some of music's biggest - and wealthiest - names are asking UK Prime Minister David Cameron for more action on illegal filesharing.

Former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant, Queen guitarist Brian May and both Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend from The Who have all signed a letter to the PM, urging the UK Government to implement the 2010 Digital Economy Act , which would force internet service providers, search engines and online advertisers to 'protect' users from illegal sites.

The veteran rocker’s attitude to filesharing is in sharp contrast to that of US death metal band All Shall Perish, who just this week forced their record label to drop all legal action against 80 fans accused of illegally downloading the band's album on BitTorrent.
