Gurrumul wooed by Will
Will.I.Am approached Gurrumul in Paris while the singer was working with Sting, inviting him to sit in on a Peas recording session, which Yunupingu’s producer, bassist, translator and friend Michael Hohnen said Gurrumul was “over the moon” about. “It was the only time I’ve seen him disco dance”. He said.
Hohnen also admitted that there had been discussions with Will.I.Am but wanted to play down the reports until there was anything solid to reveal.

Artist Biography
Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu (born 1970) is an Indigenous Australian musician, who sings in the Yolngu language. He was born in Galiwin'ku, off the coast of Arnhem Land, Northern Australia about 580 kilometres from Darwin. He is from the Gumatj clan of the Yolngu and his mother from the Galpu nation. He was born blind, has never learned Braille and does not have a guide dog or use a white cane....
