When ABC Dig Music caught up with Grinderman/Bad Seeds members Jim Sclavunos and Warren Ellis in January at the Big Day Out, there was no hint of things to come. Hear it again above.
"That's it for Grinderman," Cave told the Meredith audience. "It's over. See you in 10 years."
The Saturday night performance capped off a short tour through early December in Adelaide, Fremantle and Sydney.
The unexpected end to the Bad Seeds side project comes a year after their second album Grinderman 2 was released and six years since Bad Seeds Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey and Jim Sclavunos had launched the band for a more 'collaborative' effort.
