UK bands looking to break the big time are being advised to look to Australia instead of the US...

The UK's Guardian newspaper reports that some of the biggest movers and shakers of the British music industry are heading over here on a trade mission next month, buoyed by the news that British artists make up 22.5 per cent of the Australian market, a market share than in any other market in the world.

"The music market Down Under is buoyant, vibrant and progressive," says Julian Wall of UK music's governing body the BPI, organisers of the trade mission. "Australia is currently ranked the sixth biggest market worldwide."
