Scots-American alt-rockers Garbage are to end their self-imposed exile with a new album and tour.

Band vocalist Shirley Manson confirmed that the band are currently working on what will be their fifth album, and hinted that they're planning to tour next year.

"We've recorded quite a lot but it's difficult to quantify. We're just winging it right now." she says.

Ooh YAY fantastic! Never forget their "farewell" concert in Perth in 2005, and Shirley handing out champagne to all the front row of the audience, and some guy yelling out "Just play the songs and get on with it"....
