Brisbane rockers Powderfinger belt out seven songs at 30 thousand feet on a trip between Sydney and the Gold Coast.

Fans - who paid up to $10,000 a ticket with proceeds going to charity - were treated to a set including My Happiness, Burn Your Name and These Days.

The first three rows of seats were removed from the plane in order to accomodate the band, their instruments and PA, leading vocalist Bernard Fanning to quip: "There wasn't much room up there for big-stage moves. I couldn't pull many shapes".

Powderfinger was an Australian rock band that formed in Brisbane in 1989. From 1992 until their breakup the band lineup consisted of vocalist Bernard Fanning, guitarists Darren Middleton and Ian Haug, bassist John Collins, and drummer Jon Coghill. Powderfinger became a commercial success with their third studio album Internationalist in 1998. They followed up that success with several hit singles...

Hi this is simon, saw the pics of the finger bird - just wanted to say I went to school with JC and Ian and it is good to see them going out on a high. My mate is flying from USA to Australia to catch the last show - shows how cool some songs are I guess - lots of respect - denty in china
