Fab Four vs the Pirates
Surviving former members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, and the estates of George Harrison and John Lennon have given permission to use the Fab Four's images and music in a short animated video to help raise awareness of the value of original music.
The animated clip's main character talks about how The Beatles and their songs marked milestones in his life and brought people together around the world. The soundtrack includes music from 'Octopus’s Garden', 'Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band' and 'Hey Jude'.
The Beatles are the most prestigious act so far to pledge support for the Music Matters campaign, which encourages people not to download pirate versions of recordings by flagging legal download sites which pay artists fairly.
