Eagle-Eyed Advice

Joe Walsh
Nov 1, 2010 Updated Nov 2, 2010

When The Eagles play a flying visit to Oz next month, their veteran guitarist Joe Walsh has volunteered for a sideshow with a difference.

Walsh wants to use his extensive experience to help Australian youth battle drug and alcohol addiction.

"I'd love to speak to leaders and politicians in Melbourne, and around Australia, about addiction," Walsh said.

Walsh, now aged 62, fought a long battle with alcoholism and drug abuse, and claims to have been clean and sober for 17 years.

Victorian premier John Brumby yesterday agreed to meet the music star if he is re-elected at the November 27 state election.
