Andy Serkis as Ian Dury
Dec 22, 2009 Updated Dec 23, 2009

Andy Serkis, who plays the late Ian Dury in a forthcoming biopic, has extended his role into real life by appearing onstage with Dury's backing band.

The actor, who previously played Gollum in The Lord Of The Rings trilogy, and who donned the monkey suit in the most recent King Kong movie, belted out the Dury classic Reasons To Be Cheerful Part Three with Dury's old band.

Blockheads keyboardist Chaz Jankel has composed new music for the movie and the band have re-recorded several of their best known tracks for the film, with Andy Serkis on vocals.

Ray Winstone and Naomie Harris also feature in the film, Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll, due for release on January 8th.
