Oh, the irony...organisers of a U2 gig to mark the collapse of the Berlin Wall have built their own barrier...to keep people out.

10,000 free tickets were available for today's concert in the German capital but thousands of ticket-less fans will be kept on the other side of a two-metre high fence around the Brandenburg Gate.

Berlin politician Frank Henkel was one of many who weren't impressed "It's stopping many Berliners from hearing the concert...We don't know who's responsible...U2 or MTV."
