Cat comeback hitch

Yusuf Islam
Nov 19, 2009 Updated Nov 20, 2009

Fans have rallied around the musician formerly known as Cat Stevens, after he was booed at the first gig of a long-awaited comeback tour.

A small number of people walked out out of Yusuf Islam’s Dublin show, chanting "We're bored",  apparently angry because they wanted to hear more of his old Cat Stevens hits.

Making light of the incident, Yusuf quipped: "Now I know how Bob Dylan must have felt" - a reference to the infamous incident when a fan compared Dylan to Judas for introducing the electric guitar into his act.

Fans of the singer-turned cleric-turned-singer again immediately rallied to the Yusuf’s defence, bombarding his website with messages of support.
