Ca Plane Pour Qui?
According to a linguistic expert commissioned by a Belgian judge to examine the original recording, the singer of the 1977 track spoke with a distinctive twang that wouldn't have come naturally to the Brussels-born frontman - real name Roger Jouret.
The judgment stated that the true singer must have originated from north-eastern France, an area which produced both the Picard dialect and the Ch'ti patois, both of which feature linguistically in the vocals.
Lou Deprijck, the track's composer and producer, is claiming that HE is the voice behind the hit, but the bloke that pogoed incomprehensibly onto our screens back in 1977 is not impressed, and has vowed to sue Deprijk for defamation.
"He's making me out to be a crook, but I am an artist", said Mr Jouret, now a sprightly 56.
