Little Birdy
Feb 10, 2010 Updated Mar 20, 2010

Perth popsters Little Birdy have announced that they're taking a break from recording and touring to pursue solo interests.

Singer Katy Steele, sister of Empire Of The Sun's Luke Steele, will spend some time making a solo record and living in New York, while guitarist Simon Leach will also work on solo material.

Bassist Scott "Barney" O'Donoghue will work with other bands, while Drummer Matt Chequer plans to move into producing.

"After working together for the past eight years, with little downtime, we think that it's the right time for us to explore other creative and personal ventures," Chequer says.

"We want to stress that the band is NOT breaking up and we will be working together again in the future.
