Sep 1, 2009 Updated Sep 2, 2009

Brisbane’s rock musos are marking 150 years of the city by playing music non-stop for 150 hours.

Brisbane’s rock musos are marking 150 years of the city’s independence from New South Wales, by attempting to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records for playing music non-stop for 150 hours.

The event, being called the Big Jam, began yesterday at 6am with musicians tag-teaming their way through the week, with the only rule being that the music can't stop.

It’s all happening at Queensland University of Technology's recording studio, and will finish up with a huge concert, featuring acts like The Cat Empire and The Gin Club, at Brisbane’s Botanic Gardens on Sunday.
