The future of the band was in some doubt following the death earlier this year of E Street saxophonist Clarence Clemons (pictured above with the band), but it seems those clouds have now cleared.
In a posting on his official website, Springsteen says, "A lot of you have been hearing that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be on tour in 2012. That is absolutely correct...Info on the US dates and the World tour dates will coming up shortly".
As for the new album, he says: "we want you to know that the music is almost done...we have almost settled on the release date (but not quite yet)".

This should be great news... but it only reminds me how hard it is to imagine a Springsteen show without the Big Man.
