Biophilia hits the mark
With custom-made instruments, interactive software applications and narration by Sir David Attenborough, it's one of the most complex music shows ever staged...but it could have been more elaborate still. "Manchester is the prototype," says Björk "We had to leave many things out because of budget and time and stuff."
The project has already been three years in preparation and has already proved so expensive that the singer recently told Rolling Stone magazine that "we'll be lucky if we earn zero".
"On purely artistic grounds it's hard to regard Biophilia as anything other than a success" Says a review of the premiere in the UK Guardian. "Such an onslaught of new material would try the patience of most audiences, but this one is rapt – no one even goes to the bar".

Björk Guðmundsdóttir, known as Björk, is an Icelandic singer-songwriter. Her musical style is eclectic and she has achieved recognition in rock, jazz, electronic dance music, classical, and folk. Björk's 1990s singles "It's Oh So Quiet", "Army of Me" and "Hyperballad" charted in the UK Top 10. Her record label, One Little Indian, reported that by 2003 she had sold more than 15 million albums...
