It's been a few weeks since we last had a fresh Big Day Out rumour, so here we go...

This one comes courtesy of Melbourne music identity James Young, who yesterday took to the airwaves to declare that Pearl Jam would be coming over for the next BDO series, and would be playing "in every capital city in Australia" before adding, somewhat superfluously "This would be a huge coup".

Pearl Jam sceptics have dismissed the rumour, pointing out that the band have stated on several occasions that they would be reluctant to play any further festival shows following their disastrous appearance at Danish festival Roskilde back in 2000, where nine fans died.
