New Order
Aug 20, 2009 Updated Aug 21, 2009

New Order's Bernard Sumner has unveiled his new band's first release.

The band, Bad Lieutenant, features Sumner on vocals and fellow New Order alumni Phil Cunningham on guitar, and the single, Sink Or Swim, has been uploaded to the band's MySpace page ahead of a September 28 release.

Bad Lieutenant's live lineup will also include former New Order drummer Stephen Morris, leaving former Order bassist Peter Hook the odd one out.

Hook, whose new band Freebass is set to go head to head with Sumner and Co with an album of its own in the coming months, said of the impending rivalry  "It's a bit like a fat version of Blur and Oasis."
