Ashcroft's hoarse-y fit
Fans at the music festival reported the former Verve frontman walked out on Sunday's show after just one song, annoyed that his placement on the bill coincided with that of US rockers Pixies.
They claimed Ashcroft lost his temper, kicking a microphone stand and throwing a tambourine at his drum kit.
Now Ashcroft's manager Juzz Summers says the singer was simply frustrated at having lost his voice.
"Immediately following the show, Richard sought advice from a doctor and was ordered not to speak or sing for 72 hours." She said.
