Boy George
Last updated Feb 9, 2010

A drama detailing the early life of gender-bending former jailbird Boy George will be the third film in the BBC's upcoming 80s trilogy.

The part of Boy George will be taken by newcomer Douglas Booth, while The League of Gentlemen's Mark Gatiss channels music impresario Malcolm McLaren. Hustle actor Marc Warren will play nightclub pioneer and Visage frontman Steve Strange.

The story begins with George starting work as a lowly cloakroom attendant in London's Blitz club, which became the haunt of the leading figures in the New Romantic movement, and where he was to meet his fellow Culture Club bandmates.
