A Smashing Broadway success

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has revealed an unusual career ambition for his music – he hopes to write for Broadway.

Though Corgan told the New York Post that he won’t embark on this new endeavour until he’s perfected his craft “I want to be a better songwriter before I try Broadway... If I do Broadway, I’m not coming to write three-chord rock songs.”

So perhaps listen out for a showtune or two in the new Smashing Pumpkins studio album Oceania to be released in 2012.
