5 Songs: The Audreys

The Audreys
Jan 5, 2011 Updated Apr 4, 2011

Another chance to hear Taasha and Tristan from The Audreys revealing their favourite 5. Find out who they turned electric, the artist they tried to stalk and the song they soundcheck to.

Tracklisting:

1. Paul Kelly – 'Stumbling Block' (album: Foggy Highway 2005)
2. The Yearlings – 'Butterfly' (album: Sweet Runaway 2010)
3. Bruce Springsteen – 'I’m On Fire' (album: Born In The USA 1985)
4. The Sundays – 'Here’s Where The Story Ends' (album: reading, writing and arithmetic 1996)
5. Nick Cave – 'Mercy Seat' (album: Tender Prey 1988)

The Audreys third album, Sometimes The Stars, sees the band stripped back to the core duo of Taasha Coates and Tristan Goodall, interspersed with a helping hand from guests including Tim Rogers, Jazz avante garde pianist Paul Grabowsky and Michael Barker of John Butler Trio fame. According to Taasha, it’s the most fun they’ve ever had recording an album.
