40-odd years on...
To mark the 40th Anniversary of his debut record, English musician and actor David Bowie will release a double disc collector's edition of the iconic rock album Space Oddity.
Set for release this October, the album has been fully remastered from the original tapes with great lengths made to mirror the original vinyl sound. The original fade-outs and gaps between tracks have also been preserved.
The first disk features the album as it was originally presented and the second disk offers eight previously unreleased tracks, including demo versions of the songs Space Oddity and The Occasional Dream. Also featured is Bowie's 1969 Italian version of Space Oddity entitled Ragazzo Solo, Ragazza Sola. Translated as 'Lonely Boy, Lonely Girl', Bowie recorded the Italian version thinking he was singing a translation of the original lyrics.
This latest offering from Bowie comes in the wake of a July release of the Space Oddity EP on iTunes, featuring four versions of the track as well as song stems for fans to remix.
