360 degrees of complaint
Former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne has joined the chorus of concerns over the band's carbon footprint as they take their huge 360 degrees stage show around the world. Byrne wrote on his blog that the band's tour cost were "excessive", bearing in mind the band's stance on world hunger.
There have also been complaints from residents living close to Dublin's Croke Park, angry at the number of heavy trucks using the narrow lanes around the venue during the band's three show stint there last month.
Now U2 guitarist The Edge has responded, saying that it's unfair to single out rock n roll bands when there are far worse carbon offenders, before adding that the band does at least have a programme in place to offset their carbon emissions.
