30th Anniversary of John Lennon's death
The former Beatle, who would have been 70 years old, was shot dead outside his New York apartment block on the 8th December – a day before his birthday.
Several events have been planned in his hometown of Liverpool, including a candlelit vigil and a performance by members of his first band, The Quarrymen.
Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono, led a memorial service in Iceland where she performed with their son, Sean.

Comments
Whoever does the research (or whoever writes the scripts) for your news articles should be fired, or at least receive a good talking to! John Lennon's birthday was October 9, not December 9 as this article suggests! It's obviously too late to record a new item correcting the mistake, but can it please be amended on the website?
