27 Club's untimely death
A special group that most don’t want to join; 'the 27 club' has long stood for those musicians who have tragically lost their lives while at the early age, with Amy Winehouse being the latest inductee.
The study published in the British Medical Journal states that the untimely deaths of the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain and Janis Joplin are just a result of lifestyle... “the money comes in, they start to engage in risky behaviour, maybe then they need stronger drugs, more alcohol,” said Adrian Barnett, Associate Professor at Queensland University of Technology, one of the researchers.
Despite this, the age itself isn’t necessarily significant. “There was a small blip in the risk of death at age 27 for famous musicians but there other similar blips at age 25 and 32," he said.
