Now you might just remember this dynamic duo from their spell with Killing Heidi, but their distillation into The Verses has brought with it the fresh air of inspiration.
Writing on their official website, Jesse says "I feel like we've always written songs that we're really proud of, but sometimes - depending on the way they were recorded or arranged - we'd think 'Was that really the best way we could have done that?'. We've got that freedom now - it can be Ella and me, and whatever combination works for that particular song."
"We're starting from the start, and - personally, from a songwriting perspective - as an adult," Ella says. "I feel so happy and inspired. This doesn't feel like an evolution, it feels like a new beginning."
Sounds like one, too - enjoy!

Ella and Jesse f--- i love you guys i am so glad to hear some new material, it's revitalising!
Ella you were my idol growing up, i learnt so much about singing and taught myself how to jump into falsetto just from listening to Reflector over and over again. I used to twist all my hair into fake dreads so i could look like you (lol hilarious) and i know all your songs word for word, it was so good to have someone with some personality to look up to cos all my friends cared about was Britney Spears, thank God you saved me from that.
Please come to Canberra again you guys did some really cool gigs there, especially the opening of the museum that was awesome.
I feel so at home listening to you and whenever i hear Ella sing i just want to spend the rest of my life singing cos your so inspiring and uninhibited by social norms, so pls don't ever stop.
Can't wait to hear more from you.
Love Always your Number One Fan
Sally xoxo
