Rage 25 years giveaway
rage has been a staple in many a music-lover's lounge room during the last 25 years - after getting home from a late night of live music, a cure for insomnia (although it's not very effective), used as the soundtrack to share-house parties or for lazing through a weekend morning on the couch.
To celebrate its 25th birthday, a double CD compilation of some of the most popular tracks has just been released, including music from The Beastie Boys (pictured), Nenah Cherry, The Stone Roses, Sinead O'Connor, Busta Rhymes, Jane's Addiction, R.E.M, You Am I, Fatboy Slim, The Vines, The Presets, Aphex Twin, Gotye, Lady Gaga plus many many more.
Also included is a DVD, with 36 videos from 1987 - 2012, including Bjork, Weezer, Eskimo Joe, Josh Pyke, The Temper Trap and Lana Del Rey.
To win a copy of this magnificent compilation, (in a short paragraph) give us your best memory of watching rage.
The five most entertaining and creative answers, as judged by ABC Dig Music will win the CD/DVD pack.
The competition is now closed.
The winners are:

My Rageducation: I was the only one in the house who could work the VCR, so I'd tape Rage and watch it in the morning with my little brother. The agreement was that the song had to pass the 20 second rule before being FFWDed - we learned pretty quick how long an average clip took. I still remember the look on his face the first time we saw/heard Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana. It changed everything....... thanks Rage!

Not quite a memory as such but I love watching obscure guest programmers and finding out that we like the same music. Who'da thought Meatloaf and me like the same sort of playlist! Most recently it was Keith Urban's selection of U2's Sweetest Thing - choice!

Fond memories of staying at the Yungaburra Hotel on the Atherton Tablelands on a cold winter's night in 1987. Switched on the TV located out on the verandah late on a Friday night and watched this amazing tribute to the Beatles on this new all nighter called Rage - loved it immediately!

My favourite Rage watching moment was way back in 1992. I was feeling pretty bummed about missing out on tickets for the very first Big Day Out in Sydney, but didn’t know that my sister had entered Rage’s competition to win a double pass. I had come home from the pub, and flicked on Rage just in time to see my sisters name scrolling across the bottom of the screen as one of the winners. Even though we lived about 400km apart at the time I am pretty sure we heard each other screaming in our respective lounge rooms! So it is thanks to Rage and one very lucky and generous sister that I was able to witness the full glory of Nirvana live on stage in Australia, something I will be able to tell the grandkiddies (in the not too distant future!) about.

Watching Ron & Humphrey from TISM host back in the 90s and them playing the theme to (I think) the 7:30 Report. Perhaps it was another ABC show, but it was hilarious.
