I'd love to see Untidy Desk featuring some great artist collaborations. How about Jon Butler versus Eric Bibb playing the bluegrass classic, "Duelling Banjos"? Or Jeff Lang and the Waif's Donna Simpson reprising Dolly and Kenny with "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind"?
Max Turner
I would like to see Ash Grunwald do his thing at Untidy Desk. I imagine a smallish grunge amp sitting in front of him and he's just straight into it ... the sound operator not knowing which way (or knob) to turn.
Mark Lewis
Buddy Guy - Why? Buddy and BB are two of the last links back to where Blues and Roots came from. Where would we be without him/them? And all their brothers and sisters that have given so many artists a platform from which to launch their own voices. Blues and Roots distilled to its essence in one man. We need to pay attention - time takes us all.
Stuart Kerr
"I'd love to see Dan Sultan playing at my untidy desk. I picture him as the ultimate rock 'n' roller - out until 3am on a school night, and not up the next day until after noon. I think in an office setting he'd sit there with an uncomfortable chuckle - knowing that he didn't fit in, but able to pull it off with a laugh and a cheeky grin. Then - he'd rip into some hot riff and make the rest of us forget that this is the foreign environment for him! Let the toe tapping commence! (and then break for morning tea...)"
Simon Ray
Seasick Steve. Why? It would be the last Untidy desk performance ever! His performance on Spicks and Specks with the song Thunderbolt was so full of energy, that any desk in the vicinity of his 3 string guitar is likely to go up in flames!
Sam
John butler trio because (like their music) they would start with a simple system (or riff) then add layers of complexity until the original desk is unrecognisable. Fun guys to share a desk with though!
Angela Drane
I would love to see the Waifs drop in for an Untidy Desk performance. I saw them under a fig tree at Womadelaide many moons ago and they were brilliant, humble, and very talented. they deserve the invite!
Jess Henderson
Lanie lane- I know she's been on already, but I'm greedy and she's amazing!!!!!
Caren Florance
I'm torn between Michael Franti (& Spearhead) and Eric Bibb. It would be amazing to have them playing an Untidy Desk gig *together*, because those men have a world of emotional wisdom to share in their music and their music brings the emotional wisdom home every time.
Liann Filer
"Is the Untidy Desk big enough to take on Michael Franti & Spearhead? Not just physically but just think, if everyone in the ABC dig office listens to Michael Franti's lyrics will their mind expand too? Will it have to become the Untidy Office series? Will it be too dangerous having too many people with enlightened minds walking around? (and is there a cure?)"
