Eilen Jewell 2010 tour
Her album Sea of Tears was one of our features last year and ABC Dig Music are proud to be supporting her whil she's in Oz.
Jewel began her career busking at farmers' markets during college, and her sound - which takes its cues from from blues, roots, jazz and country - has been compared to that of Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welsh and the Be Good Tanyas.
Jewell will be accompanied on her tour by the band she's been working with for over four years, which includes Jason Beek (drums, harmony vocals), Jerry Miller (electric, acoustic and steel guitars) and Johnny Sciascia (upright bass).
ABC Dig Music and 774 ABC Melbourne organised a very special intimate evening with Eilen and the band to help kick off the tour...and what a great night it was. Our cameras were there to capture it, so keep your eyes peeled for the video!

Eilen Jewell is a singer, band-leader and songwriter based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Born in Boise, Idaho on April 6, 1979, Eilen has been performing her brand of roots, blues, jazz and country influenced music in the greater Boston area since the Fall of 2003.

I can't wait to see Eilen play. I've enjoyed her on CD so much. and of course it'd be lovely to be a part of your DIG intimate concert ;)
Isn't she fantastic. For the past 6 weeks her cd has been on constant rotation at home and in the car. Just waiting to see if I managed to score an intimate concert ticket.
We saw Eilen and her band in concert for Dig and ABC radio - wonderful! Then on Sunday night she had the overflowing crowd in the Shabeen bar at Port Fairy in the palm of her hand. Young and not so young were entranced by her and her fellow band members. Especially when she sang "Shakin all over"... The place really rocked!
