i am alive, it is still remarkable (to experience such a thing in the first place)-
Nothing comes close to the thrill of shooting from the pit... Then sitting on my computer at home editing my photos with Dig Radio on the telly.... with a good hot cup of tea and a biscuit... pure bliss!!!!
It’s Groovelicious!
Rich stirring accents, great stories of the road, songs about the cool scenes we love, and cosmic instrumentals that will take you away… await the buyers of Robert Jackson’s fourth effort, MOJO TONES
A wild blend of rockin’ Blues, Funk, and eclectic soul soothing ethereal tracks, MOJO TONES is a 10 year culmination of intense crafting of lyrics, sound, and solos, applied with “the feel”... Production values have been described as “Spellbinding”. Special care was given to make the Feel of each song match the message to be conveyed ….with twists and licks that make this CD truly unique…
Including heartfelt shifts of dynamics, and a natural flow of song builds, the powerful voices and searing guitar riffs trade off. All accented with rich, carefully crafted Hammond B3 and special keyboard parts, which, again, were chosen to accentuate the individuality and feel of every song. The result is a tightly produced, hook-laden Blues and Rock album appealing to indie, Blues, Rock, and Jam Band fans alike.
The guest player list for MOJO TONES is long and varied. Many of these players can also be heard on the Musicmaker Label, as This CD was made in the same studio. Microwave Dave( Of MW DAVE AND THE NUKES fame) Mike Roberts, (5 O’Clock Charlie). Danny Hall, and Dana Fletcher, in addition to many others, make MOJO TONES a local all-star record. The name VIBROS came from our tendency to musically read each other so closely, Hence, “Bruthas of the same Vibe”, or, VIBROS.
The mood of this CD takes some radical turns from track to track…But always with a deep groove to ride. The Jubilant “Juke Joint Dancin” is a fun romp inside a wild Juke Joint, while “Visitors” portrays a swampy, deep “what if” alien visitation scenario…Stories are told, and the listener is immersed in a “wall of Sound”…. Like a great album should be!
Here is an album that makes you feel good all over…High energy, attention to detail, and innovative writing will have you wanting to hear it over and over to catch a different nuance every time you hear it.
