Just heard Salwater Band and trheir song, 'Baywara' on ABC1Dig. I'll be listening for more:)
Malk - Saltwater Band. A beautiful album, heard it first on ABC overnight.
Pity the price retailers are charging is up to 75% more than the latest mainstream artists albums at $19.99. Saltwater Band album is priced in Cairns : JB Hi Fi $27.99 ABC Shop $34.99. The shop assistant in JB Hi Fi asked what country they were from ! They had several copies on the shelf but I was a little surprised at the higher than usual pricing. So much for music retail staff nowadays taking in interest in all genres as they did when I was in the record shop business in the 70's. By the way the ABC offered to price match the JB Hi Fi price and after making a price check, purchased from ABC as it is where I heard it first.
Saw the band play at an open air concert in Cairns on the Esplanade last year and they were excellent. Good to see the ABC at least give them airplay.
Just fantastic I wonder what it feels like being there in person at their concerts, can't wait to go to the Territory and meet people from another country.
